Janice- excellent demonstration of the difference staging a vacant home can make.  I've seen listings on line and I have no idea what room I'm looking at because there's no furniture!

Thanks Kathy!  I have to tell you when I went to view this vacant listing a few rooms even stumped me!!  When I went to upload these pictures for the blog...I was stumped again!!  Kept uploading the wrong angle....Yikes!  :)  You know it's bad when you Stump the Stager!! :)

Janice, great before and after shots!  Definitely shows a better space perspective with furniture

Diane - Thanks!!  This room could be a challenge for Home Buyer's to see online and in person!  No need to keep em' guessing! :)

Janice - Oh, you terrible flirt!  "Your place or mine?"...  Oooooh, you were talking staging - oops, sorry!  I would definitely pick your place - way more appealing than 4 blah beige walls!  Love the blue!

Hi Janice ~ Love the title of your post!!  You have a second career as a comedian if you ever get tired of staging LOL -- but seriously, your post shows the difference of a BORING vacant home that buyers will think looks too small or has odd spaces .... compared to a move-in ready, stylish home that encourages them to write an offer.  Great job my friend!!  :-)

Love the blue/brown bedroom and prints as well as bedding -- a little different with that shade of blue!

I love the idea of "Stump the Stager" -- can we start a column on that here on AR and have agents submit photos?! Or WE submit photos of difficult rooms -- I've got a doozy right now I'm racking my brain over! Could use a little help :>}

Sally - Ha ha!  Thanks GF! Always trying to sway folks over to the "Staging" side! ;)  Once you cross over to our side you never go back!!

Maureen - Thanks Sista Stager!!  I wish my teenagers thought I was funny!  I agree odd spaces really need a Stager's touch to show the masses what could be instead of "What the ???"

Amy - Thanks!  Yes, "Stump the Stager" would be a great group! I nominate Amy to start it up!! ;)  Seriously, you should blog about your "doozy" and see what transpires....

Hi Janice,

Really nice after-effects, and without overdoing it.  I once worked for a homebuilder who couldn't afford fully decorated models, so we came up with the idea of placing vignettes in key rooms around the house (this was way before staging became popular).  Those vignettes gave all the models just that right amount of personality, and a homey feel.  Keep up the good work!

Michael - Thank you!  How cool that you and the Home Builder were way ahead of the pack and marketed properties to attract Buyers! Awww the power of Home Staging! :)

Your place, for sure. What a difference. Loved your response with "what the ??."  It's true. You can impress them or depress them - it's entirely up to the home seller. Hiring a stager for a vacant home is a must-do.

Congratulations. Your home staging is being featured in the group Staging Before and After Pictures.

Kathy - Thank you so much for the feature GF!  Ha ha "what the ??"  is so true!! How many times have we heard it or said it! ;)  Yup, Impress or Depress the choice is up to the Home Seller!

Cathy Leeeee - LOL you like that phrase don't ya!!  Blah! Thanks GF! :)

Judy, Judy, Judy - Great!!  Sometimes this stuff just pops in my little head!!  Good to spread the staging word! :)

Janice--Oh, definitely your place.  Eye catching title and you make the point so well.  With so few buyers why risk making them guess how to use a room and also risk that they just go on to the next listing.  Nice staging.

Janice ~ That room you've chosen is the perfect example of the right marriage between staging and the benefits for MLS photo display.  No confusion in those 'after' shots!

Janet - Thanks!  Home shopping is serious business!! We can't keep Home Shopper' guessing!!

David - I totally agree!  Even I was a little stumped when I first viewed this property!!  I can't imagine what potential home buyer's imagined!  :)
