Yikes! Sorry you saw me NAKED!

I hope I didn't scare you away! :/

I know, there are way too many of us hanging around NAKED. ( <-----Did you just click that link) ;)

We think we're looking all cool with a little primping & fluffing (paint & carpet). Not!

Really......like the Doctor always say's "After you've seen one you've seen them all....they all start to look alike!"

YIKES! No, no I'm different! I don't look like all the rest! BLAH BLAH BLAH

YIKES is right! Let's face it, hearing that you "all look alike" isn't going to help when you are trying to sell a Vacant/NAKED Home!

Sure you might think price is KING, however with all the Short Sales, Foreclosures & REO's currently for sale, what makes YOUR Listing stand out from all the rest?

Let's make your Vacant/NAKED Listing the QUEEN of the Valley by Home Staging! :)

Why is everyone walking right past me?

Come on....stop, hang out, get to know me!!

Oh.....you can't cause there is no where to sit and relax....and you feel a bit awkward.

I understand....I don't blame you. :(

Cindy - Thanks! Exactly!

Judy - Thanks GF! Your welcome. Now on to creating the Real Estate Show!

Steve - Thanks! I totally agree! Some things should not be seen NAKED! ;)

Very cute post Janice - and so true! Those vacant houses or pictures of houses do start all looking the same! Beautiful examples of your work!

Posted by Terkel Sørensen, Realtor, 951.805.0773 , Bank owned and Short Sales (Real Estate Places) over 9 years ago

Janice -- your title is a real "Must open" eyecatcher LOL

Seriously, your post makes an excellent point. Buyers want to imagine what it would be like to LIVE in the home, and having it staged will help them do that. Who wants four vacant walls and nothing to see but flaws and imperfections?

Margaret - Thanks GF! Showing homes vacant does not do them justice! A totally waste of advertising $$$ in my opinion!

Terkel - Thank you so much! Woo hoo! It would be my pleasure to bring you Home Staging Info to your new building! :)

Maureen - Thanks and AMEN! LOL I thought I might trick a few people! This blog was inspired by a Realtor that walked into a home we were staging. She said she had brought clients in the week before and they couldn't wait to get out! My hub said "You viewed it NAKED? You have to bring them back!" She agreed and can't wait to bring them back. The potential that Realtor's, Investor's and Stager's see can be different then what Home Buyer's see! It is our job to SHOW what can BE! :)

Kathy- Thank you! And thanks for suggesting....since I am fully dressed I have NO FEAR!! Bring on the offers! :)

Love it Janice!! And I'll be honest .. I was tempted to click the 'naked' link but I was a wee bit afraid what I would find at the end!

Great catchy way to really get the point across that homes show better fully dressed!

This really makes a difference. The challenge is that a lot of short sale sellers, asset managers and/or listing agents just don't want to spend the money on distressed properties.

OK, with a title like that, it got me thinking about staging and nakedness.

Have you ever maybe put a blowup doll in the shower or tub to show how big they are?

Or maybe put a blowup doll under the covers of a nice bed and really freak them out. I'm sure it would make it a home that they would remember.

Janice - very clever using "naked" in your title! When people see the word "naked" we have to take a peek - just human nature! Congrats on being featured and this is an outstanding example of how great staging can be the difference between sitting on the market (with carrying costs) and getting sold quickly. Beautiful job!

I completely agree with you. Staging in this market can be a very good touch that others probably won't do. The banks aren't going to pay for that and a seller doing a short sale proably won't want to. So Staging has added value in my mind.

Posted by Nathan Tutas, Your Central Florida Real Estate Expert (Tutas Towne Realty, Inc.) over 9 years ago

I could try using 'Naked' in my posts, something tells me I'm not getting as many hits as you.

Those pictures tell a great story of what staging can do you are drawn to stay on the picture with the furniture whereas the empty one makes you want to move on.

Nice job Janice.

Believe it or not, I got a phone call last year from a man who wanted to know if I did naked staging. He meant really naked, without any clothes! Now why someone would want to see a sweaty naked woman pushing furniture around and folding towels is beyond me, but I guess it takes all kinds.

When I read the title of your post, I thought "Oh Lordy, he's looking for another naked stager". Glad that wasn't the case!
