Hi Janice....what a difference.  A picture is worth a thousand words or in this case...dollars.

Awesome examples! Exceptional staging cannot be overlooked. Especially in this market.

Posted by Jesse Romero, Business Development & Marketing (Real Estate) almost 8 years ago

Judith - Thanks! Exactly, a picture is worth a ton of money when it comes to marketing what is probably your biggest investment!  I cringe when I hear Seller's dropping their home prices thousands of dollars. Investing in Home Staging vacant is priceless!

Jesse - Thank you!  I am so glad you agree!! Now if we could just get the rest on-board  ;)

Really love the before & after of that kitchen!  The "outstanding" feature in the vacant pictures....the marks made by the vacuum on the carpet....YIKES!!!

Well said, and so true, houses do all start to look alike.  The photos are great examples of how a home should look for the mls photos!

What a fun post and your photos-well, they are priceless!!

Janice - A picture is worth 1,000 words, and boy, do these before photos tell a story!  Vacant homes are monotonous, boring, and very similar.  Staging transforms homes into memorable, inviting homes for sale.  Well said!

What a great post, Janice, as it proves a point - vacant homes simply are NOT enticing the buyers into the home off the internet. Hard to sell a home if you can't get the buyers in.

Congratulations. Your home staging is being featured in the group Staging Before and After Pictures.

Janice,

A great way to tell the story how vacant is boring and how exciting is a Staged Home!  I love your example of before and after pictures.  Fabulous job creating a look and feel that buyers can't resist!!!

Morris - Glad I could help! LOL can you tell I'm originally from NY and I don't like to sugar coat anything...especially when helping clients sell homes and increase revenue!

Michelle - Thank you so much!  FYI you added a new word to my vocab!

Kathy - Thanks girlfriend!  Yikes is right!  Ummm nice even vacuum lines..."I'll take it!"  LOL!

Cindy - Thanks! I'm so tired of seeing vacant homes for sale online.  Its just so sad and a total waste of advertising $$$!

Kathy - Thanks! I call em' as I see em'! :)

Robert - Your welcome!  Always trying to help!

Cathy Lee - Ha ha thanks! I actually started this blog as a "Look what sold 1st week after Home Staging" and I got a little carried away! :)

Sally - I totally agree! I can't imagine how REA's show vacants day after day.....do they even really remember one from the other? If they can't, their clients can't!

Posted by Janice Sutton, Home Stager - Temecula Murrieta (1st Stage Property Transformations ) almost 8 years ago

Kathy - Exactly! As we all know a homes 1st Open House is ONLINE.  Thank you for the feature! I hope it helps Seller's "get it". :)

Linda - Thanks girlfriend!  I am always trying to help!

Janice - You're totally right, vacant listings tend to all look the same - especially in thumbnails online! And at the end of the day, after a full day of house shopping do you think the vacant property will be memorable? Probably not - unless - its for the wrong reasons!

I remember one where there were piles of dead bugs by the windows and doors ... shuddder .. I can tell you for sure I wouldn't be getting a warm fuzzy feeling from that house and it would only stand out - in a bad way - after seeing other properties.

Catchy title - love it :)

Heather - Thanks!

Yuck on those creepy crawlies in the and around the window sills and doors!  They sure don't enhance a property for sale!

Suggested this one Janice because it's is SO-O well done.  Also going to reblog to my local area.  Perfect photos to really prove a point!

The kitchen shot looks fantastic, the furnishings make such a statement in that room.  Although we see it again and again and blog about it again and again, there are still soooo many bad photos on the MLS, empty or otherwise....Realtors need to have this type of before and after on file to show thier clients.

Posted by Lisa Roy (SPACELiFT HOME STAGING, Greater Vancouver) almost 8 years ago

Lisa - Thank you! Yes, unfortunately there are still so many bad MLS shots out there!  On the flip side I am happy to report seeing more and more Realtors understand the importance of better pictures and Home Staging! Time is of the essence.  :)
